Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius offensive lineman Will Conroy is down to five schools, and the Miami Hurricanes are in the thick of things in the 2026 four-star prospect’s recruitment.

Along with Miami, Conroy has narrowed his recruitment down to Arizona State, Oklahoma, Michigan and Florida.

“I think coach Mirabal and Cristobal are two legends in the sport of college football, and I think they know how to develop,” Conroy told CaneSport about why he named Miami a top-five program. “When I went down there, I loved the atmosphere and everything about it.”

Last fall the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder made his first trip down to Miami for the Hurricanes matchup against Louisville. Conroy was impressed and is hoping to make his return to South Florida soon to get a closer look at the program.

“It was my first time really seeing Miami and the culture,” Conroy said. “I want to come back down again and see the campus. The University of Miami is a great institution academically and one of the top in the nation. Not just football, but also being a student, there would be great.”

Conroy, who is the No. 236 overall prospect in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, is high on the Hurricanes heading into the 2024 campaign and believes the program is heading in the right direction.

“I think their values and what they’ve learned from their past experiences, like at Oregon, have helped them a lot,” Conroy said. “If they stay true to what they believe in, I think they’ll be a top program for years to come.”

Throughout his recruitment, the Ohio native has built a strong relationship with Miami offensive line coaches Alex Mirabal , who visited him during the spring, and Edwin Pata.

“Talking with them I know they’re genuine people, which is hard to find in this industry,” Conroy said. “They’ve been with me and recruiting me for a long time and coach Mirabal came up and saw me practice and workout which was cool.”

Conroy explained that development and a sense of comfort will be the two biggest factors he looks at when making his final decision.

“How comfortable I am with a school and if their values align with mine,” Conroy said. “And if I can get developed. I don’t want college to be my last stop and I want to play professional football. Seeing which program will develop me the most and be in my corner through and through will be key.”

    CaneSport’s take

Conroy has all the making of a Power Four offensive lineman. He is a prospect the Hurricanes have had their eyes on for some time. Getting the four-star athlete back on campus could bode well for Miami who will be looking to separate themselves from the rest of Conroy’s other top schools.
