Over the past few weeks, Lake Cormorant (Miss.) cornerback Raderrion Daniels has been in consistent communication with the Miami Hurricanes and cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson . Later this month, the 2026 prospect will be headed to Coral Gables for his first look at the program.

“The cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson contacts me all the time,” Daniels told CaneSport. “He lets me know that he really wants to see me in person to get to know him more. He’ll text and call me almost every week. It’s a great relationship, honestly.”

Ahead of his first visit to South Florida, Daniels is hoping to learn more about the program and strengthen his relationship with not only Jackson but the rest of the Canes staff.

“I really want to learn about the culture and get a family feel,” Daniels said. “I want to get to know everyone and see how I could fit into their program. I know they’re on the rise, and I want to build that relationship with the defensive backs coach.”

Heading into his junior season, the 6-foot-2, 170-pounder holds offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri, SMU, West Virginia, Oregon State and Louisville. Although Daniels has yet to earn an offer from Miami, he is very high on the Hurricanes and believes it will be coming soon.

“Miami has had guys like Ed Reed and Ray Lewis, who are some of the best defensive players of all time,” Daniels said. “You can’t go wrong with Miami. It’s a great program with a great environment. I love what they’re doing and everything about them.”

When looking into a program, the Mississippi native says relationships and development will be the two most important factors in his decision. This past season as a sophomore, Daniels recorded 33 tackles, seven pass deflections, and one interception.

“I would say the relationship I have with my DB coach (is a big key),” Daniels said. “I also really look at a program’s history and the guys they’ve put in the league as far as defensive backs as well as academics.”

    CaneSport’s take

Daniels is an intriguing prospect who holds a handful of SEC offers and has all the makings of a Power Four prospect. Although Miami has not yet pulled the trigger and offered the 2026 defensive back, they’ve expressed a good amount of interest and are looking to get him on campus for further evaluation. We wouldn’t be surprised if Daniels adds the Canes to his growing list of offers.
