Pensacola (Fla.) Pensacola Catholic four-star 2026 EDGE Trenton Henderson has received his share of attention from programs like Auburn, Florida State, Florida, LSU and Ole Miss. But after Miami entered the picture for the No. 199 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking this summer, he knew he needed to make a trip to Coral Gables to see the school for himself. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound EDGE was wowed by Miami on his first visit to The U last weekend and hopes to return to Coral Gables this fall, he told CaneSport . Florida State, Florida, Notre Dame, Tennessee and USC have also made early impressions on the 6-foot-4, 225-pound EDGE, although Miami was the last school to host Henderson before the fall football season.

“I like Miami’s campus,” Henderson said. “They are very welcoming. Make me feel like this is home. It’s a vibe. They seem like they’re going in the right direction. The environment outside of football is cool. And with football, everything is just going up there.”

Henderson spent time around Miami co-defensive line coach Jason Taylor and a handful of off-field assistants this weekend, he said, and liked his interactions with the staff. The Hurricanes see Henderson as a true EDGE who could either stand up or have a hand in the dirt on the line of scrimmage.

Henderson said he isn’t opposed to the idea of staying in Florida for college but isn’t tied to the idea. He believes his connection with a coaching staff will play a large factor in his recruitment. Education and campus life outside of football will also play factors.

He also visited Florida and Tennessee and wants to attend games at Florida, Tennessee, Clemson, LSU and Ole Miss this fall. But Miami impressed him on his weekend trip.

“I like how they coach,” Henderson said. “I love their scheme. I feel like I can make a big impact here.”

    CaneSport’s Take

Next year’s class has plenty of interesting pass rushers, including Henderson, although he’s still very early in his recruiting process and probably won’t have a more narrow list of schools until after fall game-day visits.
