MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- Montour Heights Country Club was designed by the legendary Pete Dye, and it's 10th hole is extra unique with a fairway bunker filled with lava rock.

The Par 4 10th hole kicks off the back nine with a unique sense of framing with trees on the right and rocks on the left.

"The hole is pretty defined," said Head Golf Professional Alex Megrey.

The hole has a trademark lava rock-filled bunker that runs along the left side of the fairway and comes into play off of the tee.

"You can get as aggressive as you want off the tee," Megrey said. "If you want to hit it a little further, you're going to take on the crushed charcoal waste area, which is pretty unique to Montour. It's a cool kind of risk-reward tee shot for you.

The 10th hole can play up to 421 yards from the back tees.

An ideal tee shot favors the right side of the fairway, where there is more room than it might appear from the tee box.

If you manage to find yourself in the charcoal bunker, you're able to ground your club, which helps you get a feel to the unique surface.

An approach shot long of the green is big trouble, so favoring a short shot is preferred.

Once you find yourself on the putting surface, there aren't many easy putts.  Walking away with a par should leave you feeling happy and satisfied.
