A 15-hour standoff came to an end early Thursday morning in Corcoran with a suspect suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound and surrendering to police.

The situation started shortly after 12 p.m. Wednesday when police responded to a call for help on Cherry Lane near Mystique Drive on the city's east side. Officers discovered an individual had barricaded themselves with a hostage inside of a building.

Following several hours of negotiation, the hostage was released unharmed, but the suspect remained inside the building and stopped communicating with police.

Several agencies were on scene including the Bloomington Bomb Squad. Just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday the suspect surrendered after suffering an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

That individual is reportedly being treated at North Memorial.

This story is developing and will be updated as more information gets released.
