One resident and two firefighters were hospitalized after a house fire in Corcoran Saturday.

At around 1:45 p.m., the Corcoran Police Department received a report of a house fire on the 6200 block of Steeple Chase Lane. The 911 caller stated that black and white smoke was coming from the home’s basement.

At the scene, police and fire crews observed smoke coming from the exterior of the home.

In total, more than 75 firefighters from across the west metro responded to the fire. Crews rotated due to the high heat and humidity at the time, according to CPD.

One resident of the home was taken to the hospital for injuries and smoke inhalation, while two firefighters were hospitalized for heat-related injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
