Previewing Mountaineers in the AFC Conference
There are five veteran NFL players in the AFC who represent the old gold and blue. Worley is entering his ninth season in the NFL after being drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. The cornerback has played for six different teams throughout his NFL career, including three different teams during the 2020 season. However, after the Baltimore Ravens signed Worley for the second time in 2022, he’s worn purple ever since. He’s only appeared in 21 games in two seasons playing exclusively with the club, starting in three. In that time, he’s made 20 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and three pass deflections.

The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has released its 2024 football home game promotional schedule for this fall at Milan Puskar Stadium. The highly anticipated Coal Rush game will be announced at a later date for one of the following home games; Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State or Baylor. All fans in attendance will be encouraged to wear black to the game and join the Mountaineers as they debut the new black alternate uniform that pays homage to the state's rich coal tradition and honor miners who work underground daily to supply.
