Maine man accused of drug trafficking after police raid home in Gray
GRAY (WGME) -- A Maine man has been charged with drug trafficking after authorities say they found fentanyl, meth, and more inside his home in Gray. The MDEA says 50-year-old Peter Petersen had been selling fentanyl and methamphetamine from his home at 80 Whitney Road in Gray. Authorities say undercover agents bought drugs from Petersen.

D’Auteuil returns to assistant city manager post in Auburn
Denis D’Auteuil is returning to his position as Auburn’s assistant city manager. The city council unanimously confirmed D’Auteuil’s appointment July 15. “Denis’ depth of knowledge, connection to our team, dedication to public service, and long history of involvement with the cities of Auburn and Lewiston make him exactly the right fit for this position,” City Manager Phil Crowell said in a news release. “He has a powerful connection to his community - he’s a coach, a volunteer, a dad, brother and son, and he’s a friend to so many here.”

Lawrence Hollins has been appointed as the new publisher of Down East magazine, effective immediately. “This appointment marks a significant step forward for the magazine, promising continued excellence and innovation in serving our readers and customers,” said Down East, in a July 10, 2024 news release. “Lawrence joined Down East in 2007 as a member of the advertising staff and quickly demonstrated exceptional leadership, resulting in his promotion to advertising director. His ascent continued as he took on the role of director of business development in 2019. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed associate publisher, a position he has filled admirably.”
