Quapaw Public Schools Further Delays Start Of Class After Severe Storm Damage
Quapaw Public Schools has further delayed the start of school this year after a destructive storm last week. Now, classes will start on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for all grades. "We have been working non-stop since last Friday evening on the cleanup from the damage caused by the destructive storm that hit Quapaw," Superintendent David Carriger said in a statement to students and parents. "We are working with the cleanup and construction crews to get facilities open as fast as we can in a safe manner."
Three exhumed 1921 Tulsa massacre victims found to have gunshot wounds
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Three of the 11 victims of the 1921 race massacre in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who were exhumed on Friday, were found with gunshot wounds, the city said. Two of those three victims were found to have wounds from two different firearms and one had "evidence of possible burns," the city said in an update of its investigation into the massacre.
