Plea Deal Reached in Eau Claire Murder Case
The first of four suspects in a 2022 Eau Claire murder case has entered a plea deal. Michael Purnell agreed to a no-contest plea for the shooting death of Christopher Connell. As part of the agreement, prosecutors dropped first-degree murder charges in exchange for new charges of being party to felony murder.

Victim Succumbs to Injuries After Stolen Truck From St. Cloud Leads to Multiple-Car Collision in Becker
(KNSI) – A man seriously injured after a truck reported stolen out of St. Cloud caused a multiple-car crash in Becker has died. Investigators say on July 6th, around 3:15 Saturday afternoon, a Sherburne County Sheriff’s Deputy was trying to stop the driver of a Dodge Ram when the suspect crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 10 and Liberty Lane. The suspect then drove off the road to the right and hit a Subaru Outback that was in a gas station parking lot.

Stories you might have missed from across Wisconsin. Baraboo: SSM Health to sell three facilities. Change is inevitable and change is coming to three Wisconsin-based long-term care centers. SSM Health announced that is it selling three centers, located in baraboo, Madison and Waupun to Complete Care. Complete Care owns nine other skilled nursing facilities in Wisconsin that are overseen by a regional leadership team that includes more than 900 team members statewide.
