The high school football season started this past weekend, with Scottsbluff and Gering high schools both starting strong in their opening matches. Scottsbluff Bearcats won against Lincoln Pius, with a solid score of 34-7. Their success was largely due to their notable 363 yard rushing game.
On the other hand, Gering Bulldogs achieved a 20-0 victory against Torrington. However, there were team discipline issues, as penalties caused the loss of four touchdowns. The upcoming games for both teams are expected to be competitive. Scottsbluff will play against North Platte, while Gering plays against Chadron.
