Lincoln man facing $5 million bond in connection with bank, auto parts robberies
LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - A Lincoln man was formally charged with two counts of armed robbery Thursday in Douglas County Court. Sherman Wade, 43, of Lincoln was extradited to Omaha this week in order to make his first appearance related to two crimes: a robbery of an auto parts store in February, and another robbery of a bank earlier this month.

Missouri lawsuits allege abuse by Catholic priests, nuns. Archdiocese leader in Omaha among them
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Sixty people allege in new lawsuits filed in Missouri that they were abused as children by dozens of Catholic priests, nuns and others, and the man who now leads the Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska, is among the accused. Five separate lawsuits seeking unspecified damages were filed this week in St. Louis and neighboring counties. All told, the lawsuits name 56 alleged abusers. The suits seek unspecified damages. Among those named is Omaha Archbishop George Lucas. He is accused of abusing a teenage boy at St. Louis Preparatory Seminary in the late 1980s. Lucas strongly denies the allegations, saying in a statement that he has never had sexual contact with another person.

Shenandoah couple arrested Thursday on felony Neglect/abandonment of a dependent person charges
(Sidney, Iowa) – Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope, Thursday night, two people were taken into custody on felony charges of Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person, and Aggravated Misdemeanor charges of Child Endangerment. 26-year-old Dustin Carl Lee Perry, and 26-year-old Lindsey Barbara Marie Hamilton, both of Shenandoah, were being held without bond in the Fremont County Jail, pending an initial appearance before a Magistrate Judge. Additional charges are pending.
Allbaugh resigns from Clarinda council
(Clarinda) -- One of the newer faces to Clarinda government is stepping down from the city council. Councilman Mike Allbaugh announced his resignation from the Clarinda City Council during Wednesday evening's regular meeting. One of the fresher faces on the council, Allbaugh was elected as a write-in candidate during last November's election. Due to personal changes, Allbaugh said Wednesday would be his final meeting as a council member.
