Corning parking lots, road to close for basketball tournament

CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) — A couple of parking lots and part of a road in Corning will close this weekend to accommodate a sporting event.

The nationwide Gus Macker Basketball Tournament is coming to Corning on Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21. Players of all ages and skill levels will compete in this 3-on-3 friendly tournament on the north side of the city.

Corning’s Gaffer District announced that the following lots and roadway will be closed during the tournament:

• Corning Credit Union (Main Office) Parking Lot
  • Closed from 5 p.m. on Friday, July 19, through 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 21
  • There will still be drive-through ATM access while the lot is closed
• Ferris Street
  • From East Pulteney Street to East William Street
  • Closed on Saturday, July 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Closed on Sunday, July 21, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Municipal Lot 34 (next to Carey’s Brew House)
  • Closed on Saturday, July 20, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Closed on Sunday, July 21, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
