How you can help Tom Passmore in battle with pneumonia

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – One of Corning’s top sports enthusiasts is in need of your support.

Tom Passmore, a former sports reporter and growth and development reporter for the Corning Leader, was airlifted to a hospital in Albany for his battle with Legionella Pneumonia over the weekend. Passmore has been sedated and in the intensive care unit where he is battling on a road to recovery from critical to stable condition.

The 32-year-old is a graduate of Corning East High School, Corning Community College and Mansfield University. In an effort to help the Tom and his family with expenses, a GoFundMe page has been created by friend Allison Hall. You can donate here to Passmore’s recovery: https://gofund.me/c851ca6f

Tom is one of the most respected and honest reporters 18 Sports has ever come across in the field. Countless times, Passmore assisted our department with a story, a game score and video assistance. He is truly a person who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone he believed in. Tom was also instrumental in being one of the first local reporters to cover the Twin Tiers Sports Awards previewing the big event starting in 2017.
