    Explore Corning history in free historic walk

    CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) – Are you interested in learning about Corning’s history? If so, the Steuben County Historical Society has an event coming up that you might be interested in.

    On Friday, Aug. 2, the director of the Steuben County Historical Society, Kirk House, will be leading a walk in Corning beginning at 4 p.m. outside the Southeast Steuben County Library door near the Civic Center Ice Rink.

    Corning Salvation Army to host Christmas in July fundraiser

    During the walk, House will take attendees through the government district of the civic center, the historic residential and ecclesiastical neighborhood along East First Street and the business-commercial hub on Market Street.

    No registration is required to attend the walk. In case of inclement weather, the walk will be moved to the following week on Aug. 9.
