CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) – Looking for a fun family activity next week? The Corning Museum of Glass and Watkins Glen International are hosting an event that will combine the history of glass making and racing to bring fun for the whole family to enjoy.
“A Winning Wednesday” will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Corning Museum of Glass. Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to view race cars on display and watch up-close glass-making demonstrations, as well as see the Go Bowling at The Glen trophy, which is crafted by the Corning Museum of Glass.
Free veterans barbecue coming up at Eldridge Park Race cars that will be on display at the event will include the following:
- Two Watkins Glen International Pace Cars
- #19 Martin Truex Jr. Show Car
- 2005 #2 Rusty Wallace Race Car
- 1992 #11 Bill Elliott Race Car
- 1995 #5 Terry Labonte Race Car
- Dallara DW12 IndyCar Show Car
- 1998 BMW M3 Race Car
- 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Race Car
In addition, the event will feature a Watkins Glen edition of CMOG’s “You Design it” program, which allows kids to sketch a racing-themed item to be entered for a chance to be brought to life by the museum in an original glass structure.
