Shore Duty to Make Coronado Debut this Summer

Shore Duty , a brand new concept from local distillery owners, is preparing to debut later this year at 126 Orange Avenue in Coronado , the owners’ hometown.

Liberty Call Distillery co-owners Bill Rogers and Marc Lord have always wanted to open a restaurant in their beloved neighborhood. However, they decided to launch the company from Spring Valley in late 2014, followed by a second location in Barrio Logan, which opened in 2020. Now, the duo is finally getting their wish and is opening Shore Duty in the former home of Serrano’s Street Tacos & Bar in downtown Coronado, first reported by SanDiegoVille . The restaurant will open in Summer 2024 .

Although the two had to wait a decade to finally open a concept in Coronado, it will be worth the wait. The concept will feature an indoor and outdoor space, room for private meetings and parties, and chef-pairing dinners. For food, customers can expect various high-end options, including different seafood options, lamb chops, and steaks. On the other hand, Shore Duty will have a full bar with plenty of craft beers, wines, and cocktails made with Liberty Call’s award-winning spirits.

“We’re bringing back the roll-up doors to the restaurant, along with new paint, tables, and chairs, creating an indoor patio feel that is open and inviting,” Rogers tells SanDiegoVille. “We first met the landlord, Steve, when he owned the Firehouse Bar and Grill and sponsored our rec softball team. We tried to move in back in 2018, but the space didn’t quite work for a distillery. When it became available again, we called Steve right away.”
