A traffic shift will affect motorists starting Saturday due to the ongoing Harbor Bridge Project.

The new bridge is scheduled to be completed in June 2025. It was originally estimated to be completed in spring 2020.

A new alignment to access the Uptown area and Leopard Street will open as the current exit to Comanche Street will close this weekend.

The new ramp will take motorists toward Antelope and Staples streets to access Leopard Street and the area around City Hall.

The traffic shift will not impact connectivity from northbound State Highway 286 to eastbound or westbound Interstate 37.

From 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, the connector ramp for northbound SH 286 to westbound I-37 will be temporarily closed for the traffic realignment. Drivers will be detoured to take northbound SH 286 to eastbound I-37 and make a U-turn at Chaparral Street to continue west on I-37.
