Several Coastal Bend schools were chosen as "Texas Honor Roll Schools" by a nonprofit focused on improving student outcomes.

The Education Results Partnership Honor Roll uses student achievement data to highlight successful schools and districts.

A list focusing on school districts included Bishop CISD, Calallen ISD, London ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, Gregory-Portland ISD, Ricardo ISD and Santa Gertrudis ISD.

Another honor roll list highlighted specific campuses, including some from other area school districts like Corpus Christi ISD.

Here's which Coastal Bend schools were chosen:

    • Lillion E. Luehrs Junior High School in Bishop CISD
    • Calallen High School
    • West Intermediate School in Calallen ISD
    • Harold T. Branch Academy in Corpus Christi ISD
    • Windsor Park Elementary School in Corpus Christi ISD
    • Mireles Elementary School in Corpus Christi ISD
    • Jones Elementary School in Corpus Christi ISD
    • Faye Webb Elementary School in Corpus Christi ISD
    • Driscoll Elementary and Middle School in Driscoll ISD
    • London Middle School
    • Flour Bluff Junior High School
    • Flour Bluff Intermediate School
    • Clark Elementary School in Gregory-Portland ISD
    • Ricardo Elementary School
    • Santa Gertrudis Academy High School
    • Sarita Elementary School in Kenedy County Wide CISD

The program honors schools and districts with high performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness math and reading tests for all students, as well as improving outcomes for historically underserved student populations.

About 12% of eligible schools and 10% of eligible school districts made the list. The list compares schools based on peer groups. Schools and districts with at least a third or more of their students designated as socioeconomically disadvantaged earn a star designation, and schools with low poverty earn a scholar designation.

All of the Coastal Bend schools and districts on the list were "star" schools, except for London ISD, London Middle School and Windsor Park Elementary School, which were "scholar" schools.

More information about academic performance is available online through the Texas Education Agency's Texas Assessment Research Portal, which includes test results from every Texas public school and campus, and Texas Academic Performance Reports, which also include data on attendance, graduation and dropout rates.
