Complaints about flight noise around the Monterey Regional Airport have inspired activism.
For years, some residents in Del Rey Oaks, Monterey and elsewhere have complained about airplane noise from flights taking off or landing at Monterey Regional Airport. Some of those complaints arose after the Federal Aviation Administration, which regulates all the flights coming to or leaving the airport, implemented in 2015 its “NextGen” technology at the facility, part of a nationwide effort to modernize how the agency manages federal airspace.

Surf’s Still Up: How the Beach Boys Drew Us to California
As I sip a Gypsy Queen at Carmel’s Cypress Inn, I think about getting tossed and turned, hours earlier, by the crisp and nearly onshore emerald waves down the hill from this hotel once owned by Doris Day. I look up at the five framed CDs presented to Terry Melcher, Day’s son, by the Recording Industry Association of America for 500,000 sales of “Good Vibrations, 30 Years Of The Beach Boys,” hanging above.

July 26, 2024 – Eager to make her own mark on the Talbott lineup, winemaker Kamee Knudsen has introduced a little bit of steel to the Chardonnay program. Like adding a twang of steel pedal to a country ballad for emotional impact, it definitely makes its presence known in the wine. And, beyond that, she’s also done something completely new for Talbott, and that is to offer a low alcohol alternative.
