ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - CBS7 FIRST ALERT Forecast for Thursday, July 4th, 2024: It’ll be a hot Independence Day across West Texas and southeast New Mexico. Lows will only drop into the 60s, 70s and 80s across the region. Temperatures will warm quickly on Thursday with highs topping out in the 90s and triple digits. Midland/Odessa are looking to reach a high temperature of 102 degrees. Rain chances and coverage increase across the region Thursday with rain chances all the way into the Permian Basin. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening hours, however, it will not be a washout.
