There’s not a single source, but a network of them. “All the major rivers of the country start as these little, tiny trickles that you could step across, and when you gather up all those little, tiny trickles, they become something more,” says Maribeth Pecotte, public affairs officer for the Gila National Forest. “They add together and they become grand.”

We first heard public concerns that conducting aquatic center maintenance from September to April could negatively impact swim teams and other users. While contractor availability will play a role in scheduling, the PRB is committed to working with the Community Services Department (CSD) to minimize disruptions. Public comments like these are invaluable, and we encourage community input at the start of all our meetings to better serve public interests.
Santa Fe National Forest Recreation Site Fees To Increase
SANTA FE — Beginning Spring 2025, fees for day use sites and campgrounds on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) will increase. This revenue is invested into forest recreation site maintenance such as trash collection, septic and vault toilet pumping, painting, cleaning, addressing the backlog of maintenance, conducting patrols, and maintaining high-use sites.

Investigators say South Fork fire caused by lightning strike
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Fire investigators now believe the South Fork wildfire that claimed two lives and burned more than 17,000 acres was caused by a lightning strike. The Bureau of Indian Affairs released their report on Wednesday, detailing the results of the investigation conducted by wildland fire investigators and law enforcement officers from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, Bureau of Land Management, U.S.D.A. Forest Service, Mescalero Conservation Law Enforcement Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, New Mexico State Parks, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
