Monday's Weather: Grab the umbrella! Showers and storms possible today
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - You will want to keep the rain gear handy as several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the next several days. This morning we’re waking up to partly to mostly cloudy skies, mild temperatures in the lower 70s, and some light patchy fog. Showers and thundershowers will be somewhat limited in coverage this morning but will likely become more widespread throughout the late morning and early afternoon hours. Severe weather does not look likely for today, but some heavy rainfall will be possible at times. A potent upper-level pattern shift will keep likely rain chances in the forecast for the next several days, meaning similar coverage for showers and storms will be expect for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday before rain becomes somewhat spottier each day for Friday and the weekend. Due to the threat of heavy rains, you might want to plan on avoiding flood-prone locations by the middle of this week as they may not be able to handle the steady stream of downpours parts of ETX could see. Since we’re dealing with scattered rains and cloudy skies, temperatures will remain well below average each afternoon with highs for most only climbing into the middle to upper 80s Monday through Saturday, with a few areas potentially hitting 90° by Sunday.
