Ohio gets millions from the feds to plug abandoned oil, natural gas wells
Ohio is getting another chunk of money from the Biden administration to clean up and plug abandoned oil and natural gas wells that plague the state's countryside. The Interior Department has awarded the state $57.25 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the federal law passed in 2021 that commits $1.2 trillion to fix roads and bridges, expand internet access, provide access to clean water, improve ports, invest in public transportation and other purposes. The law provides $16 billion to address what the Biden administration calls legacy pollution by reclaiming abandoned coal mines and plugging orphaned wells.

Truck driver charged in interstate crash that killed 6 and injured 18
A truck driver in Ohio has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in a chain-reaction crash involving a charter bus filled with high school students that left six people dead and 18 injured.The crash on Interstate 70 last November killed three students on the bus and a teacher and two chaperones who were in a vehicle hit by the tractor-trailer. Who was charged?Jacob McDonald, of Zanesville, was indicted Thursday on charges that also include vehicular assault and is being held in jail on a $1 million bond. Court records did not list an attorney for McDonald. Calls to listings for McDonald were not answered. According to state investigators, McDonald failed to slow down in traffic, struck a vehicle and pushed it into the bus, which was carrying students and chaperones from the Tuscarawas Valley Local School District in eastern Ohio. Five vehicles were involved in the crash in Licking County, east of Columbus.

Recreational Marijuana Prohibited in Uhrichsville
The recreational use of marijuana is now prohibited within City of Uhrichsville limits. Council also voted on a few other matters. Among two separate ordinances up for vote, 12-24 prohibits the adult use of cannabis operations, include cultivators, processors, and dispensaries within city limits. The other, 13-24 emends the city’s codified ordinances to define and prohibit the cultivation, processing, and retail dispensing of cannabis for the purpose of adult recreational use in all zoning districts.
