Rock River Thresheree is this weekend
EDGERTON — This 68th annual Rock River Thresheree runs Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2. Activities include a flea market and craft show, food stands, and an antique tractor pull. Also on tap are a kids’ pedal pull, demonstrations, and antique tractor and steam engines on display. Admission is $10 for adults, free for children age 12 and under. Seniors are $8 on Friday. Parking is free. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. More information, including a full schedule of the weekend’s events, is at www.thresheree.com.
Northeast Madison residents balk at area's proposed land use plan
Madison’s proposed development plan for the northeast area is headed the City Council in the coming weeks, but residents remain concerned over parts of the plan. Bloom Development - Localized Water Shut Down, Sept. 3rd
The Bloom Development and City of Monona will be shutting down water in the Gordon Ave neighborhood North of Dean Avenue along with some other blocks adjacent to Gordone Ave. Due to the need to install a new hydrant coming off of Gordon Avenue for the new Bloom Development and because the City's Water Utility needs to make an emergency repair to a failed water valve, the City and Bloom Development Team will be shutting down water for homes and businesses that are fed off of Gordon Avenue from north of Starry Ave. to Coldspring, some homes on Coldspring between Monona Drive and Shore Acres, as well as homes on Dean Ave from Monona Drive to Schofield Ave.
