One injured in UTV rollover near Cotton

COTTON—A 32-year-old Duluth man suffered a severe hand injury Wednesday after rolling his UTV in the Cotton area, a St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office news release said.

After the accident around 7 p.m., the patient was transported by personal vehicle to the Speedway gas station on Comstock Lake Road and was attended to by Cotton Fire, Meadowlands Ambulance and the St. Lous County Rescue Squad.

North Memorial Air Care also responded to the scene and transported the male to Essentia Health Duluth for his injuries via helicopter. The patient was stable and conscious throughout.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash. Speed was the likely contributing factor.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
