Just days before the release of his new country studded album F-1Trillion , singer - songwriter Post Malone finally made his long awaited debut at the legendary Grand Ole Opry on the night of August 14, 2024. Becoming inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry is considered as one of country's most prestigious honors and becoming such is not an easy feat. Sure, the requirements of membership depends partly on radio airplay, music sales and touring success, but the true deciding factor, similar to any job, is the connections and rapport between artists.

Opry membership starts with a nomination made by an artist that is already a member, so having the right relationships really makes the difference when it comes to being a member of the country music community. "Opry membership requires a passion for country music's fans [and] a connection to the music’s history," says the Grand Ole Opry on their official website.

That being said, Malone has indeed made the right connections and his dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry came true due to the friendships he has formed with well known and respected country music artists including Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, and Lainey Wilson.

"You aren't a country singer until you've play [sic] this, and he is through and through one of the best musicians, artists, people I've met," Grand Ole Opry member of twenty-three years, Brad Paisley said when introducing Malone onto the spotlight. He and his blazer, blue jeans and cowboy hat were met with enthusiastic cheers and the crowd only got more excited as he continued on to perform with not only Brad Paisley himself, but fellow country legends, John Michael Montgomery, War and Treaty, and previously mentioned Vince Gill and Lainey Wilson, who at the end of their performance says with a wide smile, "Welcome to country music, Post Malone!"

Throughout his performance, Malone mentioned several times with gratitude the relationships he has been able to form while introducing each one of them on the stage. "We've been here in Nashville for, like, six or seven months and I have made so many beautiful friends along the way and I am so honored to be able to work with my friends."

The end of his performance was met with a standing ovation as well as chants of "Posty, Posty, Posty," that have been iconic at his previous concerts. As his country music career begins, the connections and friendships he has made and will continue to make will only make his pursuits that much more successful.
