A little bit goes a long way as far as kind gestures go, and country artist Kane Brown demonstrated how much of an impact compassion can have in his recent show in Denver, CO.

During his concert on September 6, Brown spotted a young man in the crowd holding up a colorful hand drawn, block-lettered poster sporting the words, "Bullied for the color of my skin. I just want a hug from Kane." He made his way to the side of the stage to greet the fan, Keylan (7), and to give him a fist bump and to fulfill his wish for a hug. He signed his poster and continued to sing "Good As You," clearly indicating that in that moment, the words were meant for that young boy.

The interaction was shown on the big screen for the whole crowd to see, and fans have posted and reposted the videos all over social media to highlight the kindness that was shown to Keylan.

Brown himself shared photos of him and the young fan in a cowboy hat on Instagram, encouraging his fans and followers to "be yourself" and to "try to be kind."

The phrase 'never meet your heroes, for they will surely disappoint,' has never been proven more wrong than it was the night of Sept. 6. In the comment section of Brown's post, Keylan's mother Amanda shares, "Thank you for an amazing show and an amazing experience that Keylan will never forget. His first concert and he met his hero. Thank you Kane for all that you do, these kids have a good man, father, and husband to look up to."

Amanda expressed her gratitude for the experience and shared with Country Now , "I have so much respect for Kane after this experience. I could tell by the look on his face when he hugged Keylan that it truly touched his heart,” she reflected. “The fact that he took time away from his show to hug my son and bring light to the subject on his sign was just amazing. Bullying of any kind I feel like is a topic that is typically brushed under the rug and I am so grateful he addressed it in-front of thousands of people."

She went on to share how long Keylan has looked up to Brown as they share similar stories and even have the same last name. "He has always looked up to Kane, they both come from a white mother and black father. I have played his song learning about Kane being bullied for the color of his skin and he would say ‘mom just like me,'... When he was bullied he would cry about the color of his skin and ask why those boys were being so mean not only on the bus but at the town pool also. He sees Kane’s strength and knows where he came from and after hearing it, showed him that it’s ok to let it go."

Brown has certainly shown his fans that he cares for them, his kindness being manifested through his actions. He has worked for several years with the Boys & Girls Club and in 2022, he was given with the Champion of Youth Award, honoring him for the commitment he has shown to the organization.

Later this month he will once again be recognized with the Country Champion Award at the People's Choice Country Awards, which airs on Sept. 26 on NBC and Peacock.
