Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson are planning to cover "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man," originally performed by the legends themselves, Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Wilson and Johnson are two of the biggest names in modern-day country music.

Country Countdown USA interviewed Cody Johnson when he said, "I’ve always wanted to do a song with Lainey Wilson. I heard Loretta Lynn’s ‘Louisiana Woman Mississippi Man,’ I called Lainey and said we should record that song together, and she agreed. But we haven’t done it yet."

No new word has been released on a date of anticipation for the song, but it is no secret that the two will be a dynamic duo and represent the relationship that Conway and Loretta had. The original song was sang by Lynn and Twitty and was released in 1973. The song was certified Gold by the RIAA and became their title track for the later released album. This pair made this song their third No. 1 hit together. It has become a classic country anthem.

Over the years, this song has been covered many times by different artists. Dierks Bentley and Sheryl Crow collaborated on a cover of it, along with Lee Ann Womack partnered with Alan Jackson.

Even the grandchildren of Loretta and Conway covered the same song this year! Though there are an abundance of great recreations of the song, the Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson version of the song is expected to be a fan favorite.

Both artists have a lot going for them individually in the music world as well. Johnson is selling out stadiums on his tour, and he has become an important figure in the country music industry.

Wilson has been busy getting the best of both worlds too; honoring superstar Miley Cyrus with a tribute cover of "Best of Both Worlds." Wilson also recently released her newest album, "Whirlwind."

Be on the watch for an incredible cover of "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man," by modern day country music legends.
