Orange: Driver Killed In Crash With Pole

06.15.2024 | 9:23 PM | ORANGE – One person was killed in a collision with a power pole, Saturday night.

The crash was reported on North Batavia Street near West Grove Avenue around 9:23 PM when a vehicle collided with a power pole.

Authorities arrived on scene and located a vehicle with major damage and its driver trapped in the wreckage.

Firefighters attempted to extricate the driver but later pronounced them deceased on scene.

Preliminary reports indicate the single vehicle was traveling southbound on North Batavia Street when it lost control and veered across lanes into a power pole.

The force of the collision caused the vehicle to spin out and come to rest in the middle of Batavia Street.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the deadly crash and it was unknown whether drugs, alcohol, or speed might have played a role.

All lanes of North Batavia Street were closed at West Grove Avenue for several hours while authorities investigated.
