Medics rendered aid to the victim, later identified as 20-year-old Fernando Manuel Lopez, of Santa Ana, but ultimately pronounced him deceased on scene.

Preliminary reports indicate two suspects, one of which was described as a hispanic male in his 30s, fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex.

Despite an extensive search of the area, neither suspect was located.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and all lanes of North Bristol Street were closed between Memory Lane and the SR-22 Freeway while the homicide investigation progressed.

Another fatal shooting occurred in the same area less than a year ago on August 13, 2023.
