SOS Fest brings local bands together for a three-day music festival in Port Orchard
Kitsap has a new music festival to look forward to that showcases local musicians. SOS Fest debuts Aug. 30 and runs through Sept. 1 and features more than 20 local bands. The festival is the brainchild of Jacob and Toni Pierce, a husband-wife duo, with Jacob performing in and Toni managing local band Sun Over Static (it’s the band’s initials that make up the “SOS” in the festival’s name).

Kevin Radke was injured in a spill at Turf Paradise on April 19 in a training accident. He broke several ribs and a punctured lung. Many didn’t know but he also tore his achilles tendon and that is the injury that has been most problematic to get healed properly.

Woman rescued from vehicle after 50-foot fall off Mount Baker Highway
First responders rescued the driver of a vehicle that had driven off the road and plummeted 50 feet off Mount Baker Highway on Wednesday night. The driver was conscious in the vehicle but she was stuck because it had rolled over. Rescuers were able to free her after about 45 minutes, and helped her back up to the road using rope gear, according to Fire District 14 Chief Jerry DeBruin. District 19 also responded to the incident, according to DeBruin.
Classic car and motorcycle show rolls into downtown Edmonds Sept. 8
