    Vote: Big Central Conference Readers’ Choice Football Top Midseason Player

    With the midseason point having passed, who’s been the best of the best for our Player of the Week winners?

    Fans get to vote for their choice based on the previous MyCentralJersey.com’s Big Central Conference Readers’ Choice Football Player of the Week poll winners through Week 5 of the 2024 season .

    Voting closes Friday, Oct. 18 at 5 p.m.

    Please note that the votes don't always show up immediately. There are lags for the votes to register and a winner isn't declared until hours after the poll closes.

    Additionally, only players from winning teams are eligible and players who have won in previous weeks are ineligible.

    Shaun Jackson, Sayreville

    The junior has rushed for around 700 yards, including a whopping 287 yards and six touchdowns on 20 carries in a 40-29 win over North Brunswick. Jackson won the Week 2 poll.

    Kyle Johnston, Metuchen

    The versatile senior has helped the Bulldogs to a 4-2 record with his play at defensive end and on the offensive line. Johnston won the Week 5 poll after recording nine tackles in Metuchen’s 29-0 win over Highland Park in their rivalry game. He has 36 tackles for the season with three sacks.

    Kamai Lowery, Plainfield

    The junior quarterback has thrown for over 500 yards, including a pair of 200-yard performances for the 3-2 Cardinals. Lowery was the Week 3 poll winner.

    Brady Scheier, Somerville

    The Princeton-bound Scheier has helped the Pioneers (6-0) go undefeated with his stellar two-way play. The senior has caught 22 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he has 11 tackles, forced a fumble and deflected the go-ahead 2-point conversion pass in a win over Hillsborough that helped him win the Week Zero poll.

    Jakir Thomas, Carteret

    The senior has had an electric season for the Ramblers. Thomas, the Week 1 poll winner, has rushed for 1,006 yards and 12 touchdowns and made 38 tackles with three interceptions.

    Ryan Turner, Ridge

    The senior has put up some eye-popping stats as the Red Devils (4-1) have won four straight games. Turner was the Week 4 poll winner after scoring six touchdowns in a 47-10 win over Bridgewater-Raritan. In all, he has 460 rushing yards, a team-high 350 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, as well as a forced fumble on defense.
