The best public schools in Hunterdon County, per new ranking

Hunterdon Central High School tops the list of best public schools in Hunterdon County, according to the latest rankings from Niche.com .

North Hunterdon High School followed at No. 2 on the list, published last week.

The rankings are based on analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. State test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, teacher quality, and high school ratings are among the ranking factors. SAT/ACT scores were removed from this year's rankings to reflect a general de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process, according to Niche.
