Uninsured children and children with only Medicaid Part A in Camden and Sicklerville can get free vaccinations this week in preparation for the upcoming school year.

The clinics are a first-of-its-kind initiative by Camden County's Department of Health and Human Services and its partners.

“These clinics are a chance for our families to guarantee their children have access to essential disease-preventing vaccines, and know they are safe when they enter the classroom on the first day of class,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, liaison to the health department.

Children aged 4 to 6 can receive DTaP, polio and MMR vaccinations.

Children aged 11 to 12 can receive Tdap and meningococcal vaccines.

    Sixteen-year-olds can receive meningococcal vaccines.

Families can also speak with representatives of the Osbourne Family Health Center at the clinics to assist in insurance applications.

The Heath Department will also assist families in making appointments to get children caught up on vaccines.
