Burlington County town named top 10 hottest zip code by Realtor.com

Realtor.com has released its top 10 hottest, most desirable zip codes of 2024, and a South Jersey town is on the list.

Mount Laurel was named number six with another Somerset County town, Basking Ridge, coming in at number four.

    Here's the full list:

    1. Gahanna, Ohio
    2. Ballwin, Montanta
    3. Salem. Massachusetts
    4. Basking Ridge, New Jersey
    5. Rochester, New York
    6. Mount Laurel, New Jersey
    7. Leominster, Massachusetts
    8. Westfield, Massachusetts
    9. Highland, Indiana
    10. Macungie, Pennsylvania

Mount Laurel Mayor Fozia Janjua was not only excited, but proud of this accomplishment for the town.

"This recognition by Realtor.com as one of the hottest zip codes is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our community. It reflects the vibrant, welcoming, and thriving environment we've fostered here in Mount Laurel," Janjua said.

"I'm incredibly proud of the strides we've made in making our town a place where people want to live, work, and raise their families."

Realtor.com determines their top 10 zip codes by market demand, or by how many views per home a listing receives, how long houses are on the market and how quick they sell.

Mount Laurel homes saw an average of 3.3 viewers per listing, and homes were on the market for an average of 18 days.

Tory Schroff, Mount Laurel resident and owner of the Schroff Real Estate Group located in Moorestown, has noticed just how desirable these homes have been in Mount Laurel.

"We have been seeing a lot of people coming from Northern New Jersey and New York. They are realizing they can live similar lifestyles but with a discount, good school systems, work opportunities and being a central hub for coastal towns and big city living," Schroff said.

Schroff admitted that South Jersey, especially the Philadelphia Metro area, has seen action but that Mount Laurel has stood out.

"Mount Laurel benefits from its central location and access to major highways. There is good dining and shopping centers in town and a mix of homes across town. Mount Laurel has everything from Condos to Mansions which gives an appeal to a wide audience of buyers." Schroff said.

Mount Laurel is 21.97 miles wide, and during the last official census, which took place in 2020, Mount Laurel had 44,715 residents.

The town has some big companies headquartered in the area and none bigger than NFL Films, where all highlights and documentaries are created for the NFL.

Fozia believes that being in the top 10 is due to the residents who make Mount Laurel the desirable town that is.

"To the residents of Mount Laurel, I want to say thank you. Your pride in our town and your efforts to maintain the high standards we've set are what make Mount Laurel such a desirable place to live. This recognition is just the beginning—we will continue working together to enhance our town's reputation and make Mount Laurel an even more attractive destination for future residents and visitors alike," she said.
