    Camden County woman hospitalized after stray bullet strikes in her home

    GLOUCESTER CITY — South Jersey police said a local man fired a gun during a dispute and accidentally shot an elderly woman in a nearby home.

    The victim, identified only as a 67-year-old, was hospitalized in stable condition after Monday night's incident along the 600 block of Hunter Avenue. Her alleged assailant, 51-year-old Francisco Griffin, was arrested after an investigation into the 10:50 p.m. shooting, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

    He is charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and weapons offenses.

    The charges are only allegations, as Griffin has not been convicted in the case. He was being held in Camden County Jail.
