Enough already with an apple for the teacher! Wawa is giving free hot coffee to educators and school employees as a back-to-school promotion in its local stores.

The initiative offers a free hot coffee of any size from Monday, Sept. 2, through Sunday, Sept. 15, according to the convenience store chain.

It's available in the firm's Mid-Atlantic operating area, which includes New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Wawa had a similar giveaway this month in Alabama and Florida.

To receive their coffee, "teachers and school staff simply need to inform the associate at the register that they are a member of a local school system," Wawa says.

The "Cheers to Classrooms" offer is valid only in stores, and not on the Wawa App or delivery services.

“We hope this small gesture shows our deep appreciation for everything educators and school staff do for children in the community," Dave Simonetti, a Wawa executive, said in announcing the offer.

The firm, based in suburban Philadelphia, has more than 1,060 locations. This includes approximately 290 stores in New Jersey.

The company brews more than 182 million cups of coffee annually, according to its website.
