BURLINGTON TWP. — A major hotel chain and other redevelopment is on the way here, barring any last-minute setbacks.
A Hilton Tru/Home2 Suites hotel is in the works for a site along Bromley Boulevard in Burlington Township. The applicant has received minor subdivision and major site plan approval to build its project here in an area referred to as the MRP Industrial/Clarion Redevelopment Area.
The hotel appears to be in the final stages in the process as it awaits approved site plans, once some compliance issues are addressed.
“The proposed Hilton Tru/Home2 Suites Hotel has all required municipal approvals and is working on resolution compliance so approved site plans can be issued,” township engineer Scott Hatfield said in an email to the Burlington County Times and Courier-Post.
The full-service hotel is to have approximately 150 rooms, with conference and meeting facilities as well.
The location (Block 125, Lots 2.09 & 2.10) is near Bromley Boulevard and Route 541, where the old Burlington Center Mall once stood. That area has seen quite a bit of redevelopment in the last few years with several large warehouses being built as well as a retail center, which includes Raising Canes, Panera Bread, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, SleepNumber and Discount Tire.
The area has proximity to Interstate 295, the New Jersey Turnpike and other major roads. It is near Westampton, Eastampton, Mount Holly, Willingboro, Burlington City, Mount Laurel and others.
A 500-unit multi-family development is on the way
There is also a large 500-unit multi-family development currently under construction near the Regal Theater at Bromley Boulevard and Hancock Lane.
The housing project is being developed by Jefferson Apartment Group across 40 acres, and includes 20 buildings of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and townhouses with two standalone clubhouses, two courtyards, a dog park, walking trails, pickleball courts, fire pits, a putting green, swimming pools, a playground and more.

Approximately 100 affordable units are included in the housing project, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
The entire project, rebranded as “Crossings," is being executed by a partnership with MRP Industrial and Clarion Partners, with assistance from Moonbeam Capital Investments, according to the business media company ROI-NJ.
By its completion, Crossings is to support more than 2.5-million square feet of warehouse/industrial space, approximately 135,000 square feet of retail space and that 150-plus room hotel, in addition to the 500-unit multifamily community, ROI-NJ said.
“Our redevelopment and repurposing plan successfully reinvigorated a site that was removed from the tax rolls and was generally creating blight over an entire region,” MRP Industrial Senior Vice President Brian Peterson told Real Estate NJ .
“The resultant program, which moved forward with the endorsement and support of Burlington County officials, creates minimal additional stress on local county services, while adding sorely needed jobs, taxes and housing that benefits all residents.”
