High School Football 2024: South Jersey schedules and scores for the season

Thursday, Sept. 26

Holy Cross Prep 19, Riverside 14: Anthony D'Ambrosio returned a kickoff 78 yards to give the Lancers the lead for good during the third quarter in a back-and-forth affair at Riverside. Holy Cross is 5-0 to start a season for the first time since 2014.

Earlier D'Ambrosio staked Cross to its first lead with a 25-yard touchdown catch from Will Updike to break a 6-6 second-quarter tie. Christian Shio erased a six-point deficit with a nine-yard, game-tying run. Vincent Gilliam led the Lancers' rushing attack with 106 yards on eight carries.

Riverside quarterback Dean Potts scored both Rams touchdowns, from 12 yards in the second quarter to open the scoring, then on an eight-yard run immediately before the kickoff return.

Pott completed 6 of 10 passes for 130 yards and had 15 carries for 114 yards. Riverside is 3-2 on the season.
