    South Jersey Mean 15 football rankings following Week 8

    Before our local teams start their quests for the ultimate prize, we take a look at the South Jersey Mean 15 rankings.

    South Jersey Mean 15 rankings

    1. Winslow (9-0, last week’s ranking: 1). The Eagles finished their regular season with a 44-0 rout of Cherokee, running their unbeaten streak to nine and clinching the West Jersey Football League American Division title outright. With plenty of firepower in all three phases of the game, Winslow recorded four offensive, one defensive and one special teams touchdown in the victory. Next: Saturday vs. Princeton (5-4) in South Group 4 playoffs.
    2. Holy Spirit (7-1, 3). The Spartans could have a lengthy layoff after their game against St. Joseph Academy for Nov. 1 was cancelled. Holy Spirit knocked off Ocean City 15-13 for its seventh consecutive win on Oct. 18. If the team doesn’t pick up a game for this coming week, the Spartans will go three weeks without a contest. Next: TBD in Non-Public B playoffs.
    3. Camden (6-2, 4). The Panthers had a bye week following a 34-17 victory over Lenape on Oct. 18. Camden has won two straight and three of its last four. The team has scored 30 or more points in five of its six wins. Next: Friday vs. Middle Township (5-3) in South Group 2 playoffs.
    4. Rancocas Valley (7-2, 5). The Red Devils rattled off 28 straight points in the third quarter to turn a seven-point lead into a comfortable 42-7 margin en route to 42-21 win at Lenape on Friday. RV finished October with a 4-0 record, eclipsing the 40-point mark in the month’s finale. Brody Deiter accounted for three touchdowns in the third quarter surge. Next: Friday vs. Edison (5-4) in South Group 5 playoffs.
    5. St. Augustine (6-3, 6). Playing in their 100 th career game at LaRosa Field, the Hermits delivered one of the program’s biggest wins, shocking Millville 27-21 on Friday. St. Augustine improved to 72-28 at LaRosa Field. Next: TBD in Non-Public A playoffs.
    6. Millville (6-2, 2). Alabama-bound Lotzeir Brooks became the state’s all-time leading receiver (4,243 career receiving yards), but the Thunderbolts fell 27-21 on the road against St. Augustine on Friday. Millville never led in the game and suffered its second loss in its last four games. Next: Friday vs. Red Bank (5-3) in Central Group 4 playoffs.
    7. Mainland (6-3, 7). Quarterback John Franchini orchestrated a five-play 79-yard drive in less than a minute, firing a game-tying touchdown pass to Jake Blum and scoring the decisive TD on a 4-yard run in overtime as the Mustangs prevailed with a 21-14 win at Delsea on Friday. Mainland has won three of its last four games with the lone loss to Winslow during the stretch. Next: Friday vs. Barnegat (6-3) in South Group 3 playoffs.
    8. Glassboro (8-0, 8). Kenny Smith rushed for 156 yards and a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter as the Bulldogs polished off the WJFL Diamond Division crown with a 20-7 win over previously unbeaten Woodstown. The team hasn’t allowed more than 12 points in any game this season. Next: Friday vs. Point Pleasant Beach (5-3) in South Group 1 playoffs.
    9. Atlantic City (6-2, 9). The Vikings had a bye week following a 54-14 rout of Hammonton on Oct. 18. Atlantic City has won six in a row and have posted 228 points in eight games (28.5 ppg). Next: Friday vs. Eastern (5-4) in Central Group 5 playoffs.
    10. Washington Township (7-2, 10). The Minutemen closed out their regular season with a two-game winning streak on the road, including a 17-0 triumph at Timber Creek on Friday. Washington Township went 4-0 on the road and the shutout was the team’s first of the season. Next: Friday vs. Hunterdon Central (4-5) in Central Group 5
    11. Paul VI (6-2, 11). The Eagles locked up the Continental Division outright title with a 19-13 home win over Haddonfield. Nate Klecko rushed for a pair of touchdowns as Paul VI won its second straight and fifth in the last six games. Next: TBD in Non-Public B playoffs.
    12. Burlington Township (8-1, 12). The Falcons soared to a 28-7 home win over Cinnaminson on Saturday. Under Township’s first-year head coach Steve Everette, the team only had one blemish on its record, a one-point loss to Hopewell Valley on Oct. 10. Next: Friday vs. Delsea (2-6) in Central Group 3 playoffs.
    13. Cedar Creek (7-2, NR) . The Pirates utilized a 99-yard drive to punch in the game’s lone touchdown as Reilly Hoffacker connected with Jahmir Campfield in the final minute of regulation for a 7-0 win over Ocean City. Cedar Creek closed out the regular season with four straight wins. Next: Friday vs. Triton (5-3) in Central Group 3 playoffs.
    14. Camden Catholic (8-0, 15). The Irish accepted a forfeit win from Audubon on Friday when their night game was cancelled. Camden Catholic heads into the postseason after outscoring the opposition 292-76 in the regular season. Next: TBD in Non-Public B playoffs.
    15. Cherry Hill East (8-0, NR). The Cougars check into the rankings for the first time this season after a 35-14 win at Bridgeton, locking up the Memorial Division title in the process. East has dominated its opponents with a plus-210 point differential in the regular season. Next: Friday at Southern (6-3) in Central Group 5 playoffs.
