An Oregon high school coach who allegedly woke players up in the middle of the night during a team camp and began slapping them appeared in court on Wednesday. Jamal Jones, the 32-year-old former head coach of Westview High School (Portland, Ore.), appeared at Yamhill County Courtroom on 12 counts of misdemeanor harassment, according to KGW8. Portland private university sells student housing complex to fuel online enrollment
A prolific Portland investor has cut a real estate deal with Warner Pacific University aimed at boosting online enrollment. Portland pays Water Bureau director $141,000 to resign

The organization was previously responsible for doling out grants and providing art advocacy for the city. Now, Portland’s Office of Arts & Culture has taken shape and has found organizations, including RACC and MusicOregon, to help administer grants to artists and creators. The city itself will be working on arts advocacy and education. We hear more about how Portland plans to partner with creators from Chariti Montez, the director of the new office.
