Baker High being used as command post for Badlands Complex Fire incident team
BAKER CITY – (Release by Baker School District) The Rocky Mountain Area Complex Incident Management Team has established an Incident Command Center at Baker High School to support the fires east of Baker. They are occupying classrooms, the BTI parking lot, and the Sports Complex (including parking). On July 26th, 2024 at 2:51AM, La Grande Police Department (LGPD) officers witnessed a silver Dodge Charger exhibiting reckless behavior near Cove Avenue and Albany Street. The vehicle, driven by Caleb Walker (21) of La Grande, was observed traveling at high speeds, disregarding stop signs, and failing to use turn signals.
