Ultimate Guide to Presidential Eats in Washington DC!

CowboyStateAdventures
A must-visit during the Christmas season - DC's presidential eateries and “dining halls”. Reasonably priced and delicious, these spots are packed with stories and certainly one of the highlights of a trip to Washington! 🎉 1. Martin's Tavern Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ P2/P3 The ultimate vibe killer! This century-old restaurant has witnessed countless historical and legendary moments, serving numerous US Presidents including Truman, Kennedy, Nixon, Bush, and Biden. The most legendary tale is Kennedy proposing to Jacqueline in 1953 at the restaurant’s “proposal booth”. The Tiffany chandeliers are beautiful, and the signature oyster stew and steak are simply stunning! Sitting in the special booth inside, you'll feel like you're in a movie scene. Outside, the cozy holiday decorations of Georgetown add to the ambiance, making for a fantastic experience! Recommended Menu: 🦪 OYSTER STEW 🧅 FRENCH ONION SOUP 🥩 MARINATED GRILLED SIRLOIN STEAK SALAD 🍖 SLOW-ROASTED PRIME RIB (regular cut) 🐑 LAMB CHOP 💰 Average cost $70-80 2. L'ardente Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ P4/P6 Their lasagna is to die for. The 40 Layer Lasagna lives up to its name and is reportedly President Obama’s favorite. The interior design is a bit underwhelming, sitting in the Dining room the lighting is so dim it makes you question life, and it's as noisy as a bar. The wine selection is average, and I don’t believe it’s Michelin-worthy, haha. The truffle goose liver dumplings are small but crafted with care. The funghi pizza isn’t bad either. Other dishes didn’t leave much of an impression, but for the goose liver dumplings and lasagna, it’s worth a second visit! Recommended Menu: 🦆 Duck Hunt 🍝 Lasagna 🐟 Whole Grilled Branzino 💰 Average cost $100 3. Old Ebbitt Grill Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ P7/P9 The exterior decorations are unmissably ostentatious! Just a block from the White House, this place is truly the legendary White House dining room. The restaurant is huge, with different sections featuring different styles, seemingly expanded multiple times.
