The Muscogee Nation has announced plans to build a $100 million casino and hotel in Coweta, Oklahoma. The Coweta Casino Hotel planned by the tribe and Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises will be located on 17 acres at the southeast corner of 131 Street and Oklahoma 51, roughly 30 miles southeast of downtown Tulsa.

Muscogee Nation will begin construction on Coweta Casino Hotel in September, open in the spring of 2026

According to the news release, the Coweta Casino Hotel will break ground in September and open in the spring of 2026. The 104,000-square-foot project will feature a 35,000-square-foot casino with 750 modern gaming machines. This casino and hotel project will create 250 new jobs.

Furthermore, the hotel will feature 46 luxurious rooms with a pool, fitness center, concierge services, and a meeting and event space to accommodate as many as 150 guests, officials said.

Other additions include a raised central bar in the casino, a full-service 150-seat restaurant, and a private dining room. Guests will also be welcomed by a 1,000-space paved parking lot and a vibrant entrance, officials said.

“Investing in the City of Coweta represents a remarkable new chapter in our growing entertainment and hospitality legacy,” Nation Principal Chief David Hill said in a statement. “We are proud to reclaim land throughout our historic reservation.

“This project adds to our significant economic development investments within the greater Tulsa region. The Coweta Casino Hotel will expand cultural tourism, create jobs and enhance the quality of life of our citizens.”

Coweta Casino Hotel will not be on the scale of River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa

“It’s going to be a really nice property,” Pat Crofts, CEO of Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises, told the Tulsa World last week. “It’s not going to be on the scale of River Spirit [Casino Resort] in size, but it’s going to be a really nice property.”

River Spirit has more than 1 million total square feet, nearly 4,000 gaming machines, and a 500-room hotel. The new Coweta hotel will have fewer than 50.

Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises said it plans to hire and train local residents and tribal citizens for the new facility. Career opportunities include food and beverage services, security, and positions in management. Other areas hiring include gaming services, hospitality, information technology, and facility maintenance.

“This project marks an exciting new chapter for our enterprise and the communities we serve,” Muscogee Nation Gaming COO Andy Langston said in a statement.

“The Coweta Casino and Hotel will be a premier destination, offering a variety of amenities to cater to all our guests’ needs. Our team is dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience, from our state-of-the-art gaming floor to our high-quality dining and lodging options.”

In addition to River Spirit, the tribe currently operates eight other casinos in eastern Oklahoma. Another Muscogee Nation casino and hotel broke ground in Eufaula earlier this month. In fact, the $69.8 million project in Eufaula will offer 500 new gaming machines.
