BILLINGS, Mont. - The Montana Fair brings fun for the whole family, and this year, fairgoers have the opportunity to experience more of it for free. The popular "Dig It Days" event will be held the last two days of the Montana Fair on August 16 and 17 from 12-6 p.m.

ROSCOE - On a beautiful late summer evening in the middle of nowhere, Montana Poet Laureate Chris La Tray inspired an audience of about 50 people in surprising ways. His talk and reading, hosted by River Arts & Books, sprinkled in humor with compelling discourse about the state of our country. He spoke July 25 on the lawn outside Rivers Arts and Books, which is housed in a former log-cabin post office built in 1894 in tiny Roscoe. The bookstore sits next to the East Rosebud River, across the bridge from the Grizzly Bar. The bookstore is surrounded by cottonwoods and the last of the summer wildflowers, and in the shade of the trees, La Tray told his stories.
Body of missing hiker recovered in East Rosebud Creek
The body of missing hiker Dylan Honnoll has been recovered from the Beartooth Mountains northwest of Red Lodge, Montana. His body, which was completely submerged under the fast moving water, was located by ground search crews on Tuesday, July 23. Search and Rescue team members met a specially trained crew from Two Bear Air Rescue from Kalispell to coordinate the recovery. The skilled helicopter crew was able to hover over the rapids in the steep canyon and lower a rescuer to recover Dylan.

A pair of local high school track and field competitors captured the two individual titles at the Pioneer Day Fun Run in Cowley Saturday morning. Lovell High School incoming senior Stetson Asay easily won the 5K race in a time of 21:35, while Rocky Mountain High School sophomore-to-be Dalan Wambeke defended his title in the mile, winning the race in a time of 6:37, 30 seconds faster than his time a year ago.

Torrential Monsoon Rains, Flooding Possible In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says torrential rains leading to flooding are possible in southeast Wyoming today and especially on Saturday [July 27]. The agency posted the following on its website: brief return of monsoon moisture is expected on Friday and Saturday.
