Cool front brings dip in temps that won’t last long
GILLETTE, Wyo. — One day after the mercury touched 102 degrees, things will be quite a bit cooler. The dangerously high temperatures on Thursday will cool to a much more tolerable 84 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota. That’s courtesy of a weak cool front that’s blanketed the region. Today will also come with a 20% chance for thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Skies otherwise will be mostly sunny, and winds will come from the northwest at 9–15 mph.

The City of Laramie Mosquito Control has scheduled a spraying of Dibrom for rural areas near the city on Friday. The application of the pesticide is slated for around 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
