COXSACKIE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– The former Save-A-Lot distribution center in Greene County that once employed over 100 employees, has sold for $20.5 million, the Greene County Economic Development Corporation announced Tuesday. The 333,386-square-foot building, 1 Van Bergen Lane in West Coxsackie, will be upgraded and rebranded to attract industrial tenants. Winstanley Enterprises LLC of Concord, Massachusetts, regional owners and operators of commercial real estate closed the deal on Monday.

“This is an ideal location in the Hudson Valley that can fully serve the entire northeastern seaboard from Boston to Philadelphia,” Adam Winstanley, principal of Winstanley Enterprises, said in a statement.

The center announced its closing in January 2023 as part of Save-A-Lot’s transformation into a wholesale grocery supplier from a discount supermarket chain. It was the first tenant in the Greene Business & Technology Park that opened in 2003, according to the Greene County Industrial Development Agency’s January 2023 meeting minutes.

The new company plans to change the facility name to Mid-Hudson Logistics Center. “We look forward to working closely with the community, creating new local jobs, and offering industrial tenants a top-tier facility with access to a skilled local labor workforce,” Winstanley said.

Winstanley Enterprises will make improvements to both the interior and exterior of the warehouse while also marketing the space for industrial operations including dry and cold storage, according to the county.

The Coxsackie facility parking lots can accommodate 77 trailers and up to 216 passenger vehicles. There is also potential to add up to 197,3000-square-feet to the available property. Occupancy for the facility is immediately available, the county said.
