ALBANY — On Friday, the Capital Region’s Sydney Worthley will be celebrating the release of her latest record, “It Was Nice While it Lasted,” with a themed event at The Hollow. Performing alongside her band, Worthley is set to make the night special for those in attendance by leaning into the 1980s both in sound and aesthetic. This 12-track collection of songs — Worthley’s second full-length effort, and third project overall — is rife with nostalgic synths, and crystal clear production values of yesteryear’s pop stars. Troy's City Council approves Alalkawi settlement
The City of Troy has settled a lawsuit following the death of a delivery driver killed in a collision with a city police officer last year. The city will pay more than $5.75 million to the family of Sabeeh Alalkawi, who was killed when officer Justin Byrnes allegedly ran a red light at a high rate of speed without his siren on while responding to a domestic violence incident. The lawsuit was filed by Alalkawi’s wife in October. Mayor Carmella Mantello says she’s happy to put the February 2023 incident “in the past.”

New data has revealed the top 10 most cultured states in the U.S. The Cultural States Index, by student travel company Rustic Pathways analyzed each state against five factors: the number of National Historic Landmarks (NHLs), museums and galleries, live performance spaces, film and media sites, and literary sites.
