Huntington votes down golf cart ordinance
HUNTINGTON — The majority of Huntington City Common Council members voted Tuesday, July 9, against a proposed golf cart ordinance for the city. The council had tabled ordinance, 6-C-24, at a previous meeting so a subcommittee could update it to limit the streets where people could drive golf carts in the community.

Hartford City man who clashed with Predator Catchers pleads guilty to child solicitation
HARTFORD CITY, Ind. — A Hartford City man arrested in May after an angry confrontation with Predator Catchers has agreed to plead guilty to child solicitation. Tyler Wyatt Selig, 26, has signed a deal, negotiated with Blackford County prosecutors, calling for him to plead guilty to a Level 5 felony and then to be sentenced to six years in prison.
City announces $5 million toward Pufferbelly Bridge over Coliseum

Twelve Parkview nurses receive DAISY Award
Twelve Parkview Health nurses were recognized this spring by The DAISY Foundation for extraordinary nursing. The DAISY Foundation was founded in memory of Patrick Barnes, a 33-year-old man who spent eight weeks in a hospital being treated for an autoimmune disorder. During his stay, Barnes received excellent nursing care, and, in his memory, his family created The DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who go above and beyond for their patients.
